Domestic and International Aviation Security landscape will be tested over the coming years. Clearly, People feel most secure directly behind the security checkpoint. However, the airport’s landside is the first essential physical point of contact the passenger has within the airport system and the passenger journey. The public accessible landside hosts significant critical threats & bottlenecks that we refer to as unique vulnerabilities.
We as an airport community cannot lead if we don’t learn from our past. Our mindset has to change from, IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN TO US HERE AT OUR AIRPORT to WHAT IF IT HAPPENS – ARE WE PREPARED?
We must examine and assess our current conditions as a first step to developing a solid plan and reassess often and with frequency to stay ON TOP OF THE GAME!
We must continue the union of various entities, including associations, government, and even private sector to form TASK TEAM for Latin America & Caribbean that is able to continue delivering and sharing critical information and best practices.
AS A WAY FORWARD – WE MUST HELP EACH OTHER – GET THERE!
